RC’s Travel Diary: A Tale of a Dream Destination and Three Very Different Hotels + REVIEWS

Ah, Italy—the land of romance, rich history, and culinary delights. My journey through Rome, Capri, and Naples was nothing short of a whirlwind, packed with incredible sights, flavors, and yes, a few surprises along the way. But as any seasoned traveler knows, the adventure isn’t just about where you go—it’s also about where you stay. From the stylish streets of Rome to the sun-kissed shores of Capri, my Italian escapade took me through three very different hotels, each with its own unique story to tell.

Join me as I relive the highs, lows, and unexpected turns of my Italian adventure. We’ll start with a charming Roman retreat that left me longing for more, take a detour through Capri’s hidden paradise where every moment felt like magic, and finally, confront the harsh reality of luxury gone wrong in a hotel that should have been so much more. Buckle up—this travel diary is a ride you won’t want to miss!

Exploring Italy for the first time has been an unforgettable journey! I started my adventure in Rome, where I spent 3 incredible days at @mercurehotels Rome Corso Trieste, a really nice hotel, would totally recommend, main metro station few meters away. From there, I made my way to the iconic Colosseum, wandered through the charming streets until I stumbled upon the Pantheon, and of course, passed by the stunning Trevi Fountain. The food? Simply divine! The pizza and pasta were so good, I don’t think I’ll ever look at Tunisian pizza the same way again. 🍕🍝

Next, I hopped on a train to Naples, for the trip I used @italotreno ´s super fast & cheap train, then caught a ferry to the dreamy island of Capri using @snav.it. Spent the night at @capri_inn such a gem with beach access just steps away and the bus stop right at the door! I couldn’t resist a swim in the crystal-clear waters, followed by a night out in Capri’s luxury shopping streets, and a fantastic dinner at with a live DJ.

After a rainy night, breakfast in bed was the perfect start to a new day before more exploring and souvenir shopping. Finally, it was back to Rome, where I stayed at @radissonblughrrome for two nights—good staff, but not a hotel I’d recommend. I wrapped up my trip with visits to the Spanish Steps, more beautiful plazas, and the Vatican. Souvenirs, memories, and a heart full of Italian wonder.
